OLMSTED TOWNSHIP, Ohio
Fleeing and eluding: Schady Road
An officer attempted to make a traffic stop Oct. 16 on a car with a suspicious license plate. Seeing the officer, the driver took off at a high rate of speed. Taking pursuit, police turned a corner and found the vehicle flipped over.
The car was empty; the driver and passengers had evacuated. Police searched the surrounding streets and woods on foot, using sniffer dogs, but the occupants weren’t located.
The vehicle’s registered owner was contacted. She said the car might have been taken by her son or his girlfriend. Both of those individuals were found the following morning, and were hospitalized for injuries.
Police planned to charge the son at a later date.
