Heroin dealer who kept loaded gun in oven jailed over £70,000 drug stash
A ‘lethal’ drug dealer has been jailed after a police raid uncovered £70,000 of heroin and a loaded gun stashed in his cooker.
Officers burst into Mohammed Osman’s home in the early morning of 5 April following reports he had been supplying heroin.
He was arrested and a search of his kitchen revealed a modified Bruni Mod 9mm pistol hidden under the hood of his oven.
More than 2.5kg of heroin with an estimated street value of £67,000 was also found, as well as £10,000 cash and homemade bullets, according to police.
The sting targeted another house in Walsall, West Midlands, linked to Osman, where four men aged 18 to 30 were detained and £36,000 cash recovered.
They were later released but Osman, 27, was charged with possessing a prohibited handgun and ammunition, possessing drugs with intent to supply and possessing a noxious substance.
He was jailed on Friday for 15 years after admitting all counts against him at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Detective Constable Naz Sandhu, said: ‘Osman is a dangerous drug dealer and one who was prepared to defend his criminal business with lethal force.
‘The gun and bullets were examined by ballistics experts and the gun had been modified to fire live rounds and the bullets were found to be homemade Luger rounds with live primers.
‘All the money we recovered at the two properties has been seized and our Economic Crime Unit will now be looking to permanently confiscate the cash under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
‘We always take information passed to us seriously so if anyone suspects someone is dealing drugs in their community, or has access to firearms, please let us know so we can take action.’
