Police reveal details about driver involved in accident which left girl injured – Derbyshire Live
The driver of a car involved in a collision which left a young girl badly injured was a 22-year-old man.
The six-year-old youngster was airlifted to Alder Hay Children’s Hospital in Liverpool after the crash which happened at the junction of Uxbridge Street and Evershed Way, in Burton, on Monday, September 16.
Police have said the driver of the Vauxhall Meriva involved in the accident was from Hanley, in Stoke-on-Trent, and has not been arrested, said a spokesman.
Staffordshire Police said they are still investigating the cause collision and also still looking for witnesses. The road was closed for more than three hours.
The girl’s condition was described as serious yesterday. Today the spokesman said the youngster is now in a stable condition.
Roads in the area were closed and a police cordon was in place while the incident was dealt with and an accident investigation unit worked at the scene. The roads were reopened last night at about 7.30pm.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward and have asked that anyone who saw anything or has dash-cam footage should call Staffordshire Police on the 101 number, quoting incident number 403 of September 16.
People in the area have beeing telling of their shock at the crash and wishing the youngster and her family well.
