Burglar jailed after he stole equipment worth £10,000 from luxury hotel – Somerset Live

A man who stole equipment worth around £10,000 from a luxury hotel has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Mark Anthony Glover, 41 of Specklemead in Paulton, admitted the offence at Taunton Crown Court  on Monday (September 16).

He was charged that he stole photographic and computer equipment worth around £10,000 in a burglary at Ston Easton Park Hotel in Ston Easton, north of Shepton Mallet on the A37, on Thursday, July 4.

Glover also admitted to carrying out two other burglaries in Somerset.

He stole two handbags from a room in Charlton House on Sunday, July 7.

One of the stolen bank cards was used to withdraw £500 from an ATM in Midsomer Norton.

Glover also stole two laptops and a handbag in a burglary at Babington House in 2018.

Both offences were taken into consideration during sentencing.

Glover was arrested on Thursday, August 15 after a DNA match found at the Ston Easton crime scene linked him to the offence.

He appeared at Yeovil Magistrates Court on Friday, August 16 charged with a burglary at Ston Easton and was remanded in custody until his appearance at Taunton Crown Court.
