Tennis ace Boris Becker is facing more driving troubles after being accused of using his phone and not wearing a seatbelt while behind the wheel.

The 51-year-old BBC pundit was handed a six-month road ban in July after racking up four traffic offences in three years, including being caught speeding three times.

The three-time Wimbledon champion has now been accused of flouting road rules again while driving his Mercedes along Chelsea Embankment on June 18 this year — just a few weeks before the ban was imposed.

It is said he was spotted not wearing a seatbelt during the incident at 12.31pm and was using a hand-held mobile phone, according to charges before Bromley magistrates court.

The case was due to be heard today in a closed-door session where a single magistrate deals with the case on paper, and away from public scrutiny.

Becker, who lives in Battersea, has been given the chance to enter a plea in writing, under the controversial Single Justice Procedure, to avoid a full court hearing.

The retired tennis star received the driving ban in July after being caught speeding twice in just a few months, adding to earlier convictions for speeding and driving while on the phone.

He was ordered to pay £1,655 in fines and court costs and landed with a six-month ban as he had more than 12 points on his licence.

Father-of-five Becker, who won six grand slams during a glittering tennis career, has had a turbulent time since retiring from the sport.

He was made bankrupt in 2017 in a financial dispute with a bank, and split from second wife Lilly last year after nine years of marriage.

Becker declined to comment on the court case.
