Stratford murder: Boy is charged after 15-year-old Michael Irving was stabbed to death – Essex Live
A boy has been charged with murder after a teenager was stabbed to death in the street.
Earlier this month, on Tuesday, September 3, police were called to the scene at 6.45pm following reports of a fight in progress.
After officers attended they found 15-year-old Michael Irving suffering from stab wounds in Byford Close, Newham.
Despite the efforts of medics, Michael, from Woolwich, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7.48pm.
His next of kin were informed and they are continuing to be supported by officers.
A post-mortem examination conducted at East Ham mortuary on Thursday, September 5 found the cause of death to be consistent with knife wounds.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, September 3 and was charged with murder two days later.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey this Friday (September 13).
Now a second person has been charged after a 15-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, September 10.
He has now been charged with murder and appeared at Stratford Youth Court the following day.
He was also remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, September 13.
Police officers investigating the murder continue to appeal for information.
