A man being held for questioning about the murder of Aidan Kelly in Blackwater in Co Clare 13 years ago is being held in custody for a further three days.
The man, aged in his late 30s, was arrested on Tuesday evening.
He is being questioned about the murder of the 19-year-old on 10 May 2006.
Mr Kelly was found with a number of gunshot wounds in a rural laneway near Ardnacrusha.
The murder has never been solved and this was the first arrest in the case in 13 years.
Following a court application last night, the suspect’s period of detention has now been extended for a further 72 hours.
He is being detained at Henry Street Garda Station in Limerick.
