A Wheatfield man has been charged with breaking into the Summit Park Pharmacy, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies responding to a burglary-in-progress call said that they found Tony R. Avino, 39, of Amy Drive, inside the pharmacy at 2578 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield, just before 10 p.m. Thursday. A window had been smashed to gain entry, deputies said, and Avino allegedly had several folded-up bills of unknown denomination stuffed inside his sweatshirt pocket.
Avino was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, petit larceny and resisting arrest. He was jailed in lieu of $40,000 bail.
