Brit, 25, dies in horror climbing accident at Ibiza beauty spot – Mirror Online

A British man has died in a climbing accident at a beauty spot in Ibiza, say reports.

The 25-year-old is believed to have been climbing near the Pedrera of Cala d’Hort cove on the Balearic island when the tragedy occurred.

Police have yet to confirm his nationality but the island’s media say he is understood to be British.

An off-duty nurse, who was in the area, attended to the victim until the emergency services arrived.

The Civil Guard asked for the police helicopter so that his body could be airlifted but this request was later cancelled as rescuers managed to get to him on foot using a safety line.

Local police and firefighters with the Vertical Rescue Group also went to the scene.

This morning, a 36-year-old man, also reported to be of British nationality, died after falling from the roof of a building in Sant Antoni.

He is believed to have man plunged from the seventh floor into an inner courtyard.

An urgent call was made to the emergency services at 2am following the incident in calle Vara del Rey.

Two ambulances, the Civil Guard and local police went to the scene and found the man lying on the floor.

Medics said there was nothing they could do to save the man’s life because of the severe injuries he had suffered.

No details have been given about the circumstances or whether the Brit was on holiday or living in Ibiza.

The judicial police of the Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation.
