Emergency services are currently at the scene of a major incident at Wanstead train station.
Witnessed revealed on social media how at least seven police cars, paramedics and an air ambulance arrived at the scene at around 11.30am today (Wednesday, July 31).
Wanstead train station is on the Central Line near Gants Hill and Leyton and operates direct services into Stratford, Liverpool Street and other central London stations.
Transport for London Central Line confirmed via Twitter that their services are partly suspended at present between Leytonstone and Hainault via Newbury Park due to a “casualty on the track”.
The tweet reads: “Central line services are currently part suspended from Leytonstone to Hainault via Newbury Park, while emergency services deal with a casualty on the track. We’ll keep you updated”
The British Transport Police and London Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
