Air ambulance called after accident in Peasholme Green – York Press

0 5

A YOUNG child has been injured in an accident with a vehicle in York city centre.

The collision happened at a bus stop in Peasholme Green at just after 2.30pm today.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed in the Stonebow development site but the casualty was taken to hospital by road ambulance.

North Yorkshire Police said the force was called at 2.35pm to a report of a collision between a child and a vehicle in the Peasholme Green area of York.

“Air ambulance has been requested and the roads around the Stonebow/Peasholme Green area have been closed to allow emergency services to attend,” said a spokeswoman.

Stonoebow and Peasholme Green were closed between the BT telephone exchange and the junction with Foss Islands Road, causing congestion in other city centre streets such as Walmgate, but re-opened at about 4pm.
