A man has died following a serious medical emergency on the Essex coast.
Emergency services were called to Point Clear Bay, Clacton shortly before 9am on Wednesday (July 10).
An air ambulance landed near to the Haven The Orchards Holiday Village, according to one witness, and a number of other response vehicles were seen in the area.
Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the man died at the scene.
Point Clear, a village in St Osyth south of St Osyth Creek, is a popular spot among locals for fishing.
A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, two ambulance officer vehicles and Essex and Herts air ambulance were called to an address at Clear Bay, Clacton shortly before 9am on July 10 following reports of a man with a serious medical emergency.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, the patient died at the scene.”
