A Winnsboro man is facing multiple charges after a police chase ended in West Monroe on Tuesday night.

According to an arrest report for Percy Washington, age 41, deputies attempted a traffic stop on Washington after noticing his Chevy Impala did not have a visible license plate or light.

The vehicle reportedly cut through the parking lot of Classic Foods at the corner of Smith and violet and headed north on Violet Street at a high rate of speed.

With overhead lights and sirens on, the Impala continued to travel north at approximately 60 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Per the report, the vehicle ran a stop sign at New Natchitoches without slowing down. Deputies said the car became airborne for approximately 30 feet and continued down the road.

Washington later exited the vehicle and ran. A passenger was detained and assisted in identifying Washington.

The suspect was taken into custody Wednesday morning and booked into Ouachita Correctional Center on one count of aggravated flight from an officer. Bail was set at $4,500.
