Belfast burglar disturbed by staff makes off with equipment worth potentially hundreds – Belfast Live
A burglar made of with equipment potentially worth hundreds of pounds during a Belfast City Centre break-in.
The incident took place on Wednesday at commercial premises on William Street, near St Anne’s Cathedral.
He was interrupted by a cleaner at around 5.40am.
The office which is believed to house Start360 – an organisation that works with young people, families and vulnerable adults – was ransacked, and computers were dismantled.
The criminal ran off when disturbed, leaving items behind, but a data projector has been reported as stolen.
Inspector Anne McCourt said: “It was reported that a male, when disturbed by a member of staff, ran out of the building on Wednesday morning at around 5.40am.
“The office was reportedly ransacked and computers dismantled. While a data projector has been reported stolen, it is believed that other items were left behind when the intruder was interrupted.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with information, or who saw anything suspicious in the area that morning, to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 354 of 10/07/19.”
