Families left terrified after burglars smash into their homes – Winsford Guardian

RESIDENTS were left terrified after burglars broke into their homes in the early hours of the morning, stole cars and sped off.

One family was fast asleep on Station Road in Winsford when intruders smashed their way inside.

A frightened mum, who does not wish to be named, said:”We were all sleeping upstairs and some scum threw a rock through my patio doors, ran into the house, found my car keys and sped off.

“We woke up to the crash. My children were in the house but this piece of scum decided he would take what wasn’t his in broad daylight, thinking nothing of the devastation he leaves behind him.”

The burglary happened at 6.10am on Saturday, June 15.

Hours earlier, at around 2.40am, occupants on Nixon Drive reported a similar break-in.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Police were called to Nixon Drive after a report of a burglary. The incident took place at 2.48am and a quantity of cash and a BMW was stolen.”

Anyone with information should call the police on 101, quoting incident number IML 428610.

Police confirmed they were also called to Station Road after a report of a theft of a car. This vehicle has since been recovered by officers.

A similar break-in and theft of a car was also reported in Wharton on the same morning.
