Appeal after robbers target “vulnerable” pensioner – Halesowen News

A ROBBER grabbed a pensioner from behind while another felt through his pockets and stole his wallet in Dudley.

The man, in his mid 70s, was targeted in Vicar Street, on Wednesday (May 22) at 11.30pm.

One suspect has been arrested and charged but police are appealing for help to trace the other robber.

Officers want to speak to two people in the area who spoke to police after the nasty incident.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses to a robbery on a vulnerable pensioner, that took place in Vicar Street in Dudley on Wednesday 22 May.

“A man in his mid-70s was approached by two men as he walked along the road at around 11.30pm.

“One of the men grabbed him from behind, so he could not move, while the other felt through his pockets and stole his wallet.

“The men then ran off in different directions.

“We have arrested and charged one of the suspects, but the other man is still outstanding.

“There were two people in the area who spoke to police after the robbery took place and we are hoping they will come forward as witnesses, to help us identify the other suspect.”
