Burglars storm bedroom and demand BMW keys – but man fights them off in Kingstanding – Birmingham Live
A brave man fought off burglars in his pyjamas – after raiders demanded keys to a BMW.
Two thieves smashed their way into a property in Kingsland Road, Kingstanding before sprinting upstairs to a bedroom.
There, yobs screamed at a couple, threatening them if they did not hand over a set of car keys.
However, a man protected a woman and chased the pair of the house.
A local neighbour said: “Our neighbour has had a burglary for BMW car keys at Kingsland Road.
“Lads in white Transit van smashed windows 11pm and went upstairs, threatening them.
“They left a phone behind but got away with nothing.
“One ran over gardens towards Lambeth / Sid’s Wines in an Adidas hoody.
“Any cameras of that area, please get in touch.”
West Midlands Police confirmed it is investigating a burglary in Kingsland Road.
A spokesman said: “Police are investigating a burglary at an address in Kingsland Road on 17 May at around 10.45pm.
“Two men broke into the rear of the house, where a man and woman were at home.
“The thieves demanded car keys, but the man chased them out of the house and they drove off in a Transit van.”
