Man flown to hospital by air ambulance after two-car crash – Hampshire Chronicle

A MAN had to be airlifted to hospital after a two-vehicle crash near West Meon.

The collision, in which three people suffered serious injuries according to police, happened on the A32 south near to West Meon Hut, shortly after 8.30pm on Tuesday.

The collision involved 47-year-old man driving a BMW, as well as a Honda occupied by a 61-year-old male driver a 52-year-old woman.

A South Central Ambulance spokesman said the 61-year-old man was airlifted to hospital by the Thames Valley air ambulance, while the others involved were taking to hospital via road.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene, and had to cut two people free from the vehicles.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed investigations are ongoing into the cause.

PC Colin Green, from the Joint Roads Policing Unit, added: “This collision happened at the top of the hill, south of the West Meon Hut crossroads, so we would like to speak to anyone who was in that area at around that time and may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision.”
