Authorities in Attleboro say the man tied to a violent armed street robbery last month has turned himself in.
Attleboro police report local resident Cory Silva, 29, turned himself in on Monday, weeks after the robbery occurred of an uptown business on April 24. Authorities said Silva is known to frequent the Eastside area of the city that borders Rhode Island.
On that evening, police said Silva allegedly, “viciously” assaulted and robbed a disabled person, which resulted in “egregious bodily injury” to the victim.
Prior to Monday, Silva was wanted on charges of armed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police said.
Silva turned himself in at Attleboro District Court on Monday. Police said he is now being held pending a dangerousness hearing.
