One of the UK’s busiest motorways has been completey shut today, after a crash involving a lorry and a van.
The incident took place just before 11am on the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25, close to junction 27 for the M11.
EssexLive reports it involved a a lorry and low-loader van.
Congestion has already been reported back to junction 28 for the A12 and Brentwood, with delays also expected heading clockwise after it was temporarily closed for an air ambulance to land.
However, the clockwise carriageway has since reopened.
Essex County Council’s Traffic Control tweeted: “M25 anticlockwise at J27 (M11) – the carriageway is CLOSED because of an accident involving several vehicles. Queues building back to J28 (A12 ). The clockwise carriageway was briefly closed to land the air ambulance – but that has now reopened.”
