Police incident closes roads in Surrey’s Central City area

A Thursday night police incident in Surrey has resulted in road closures on Friday.

At 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Surrey RCMP, along with the Lower Mainland Emergency Team, reponded to a report of a “serious incident” at a residence in the 13300 block of 98A Avenue.

A heavy police presence remained in the Central City area Friday morning.

The RCMP are releasing few details but say there will be road closures in the area for a significant amount of time as the investigation is ongoing.

The public is being asked to stay away from the area.

“The scene and situation is now contained and there is no further risk to the public,” Surrey RCMP said in a release.
