A man has died in an alleged shooting accident at a Scottish country estate.
Emergency services were sent to the Rossie Estate near Inchture in the Carse of Gowrie, Perthshire, at about 11.30am on Monday after reports of an incident.
One nearby resident, who asked not to be named, said: “It isn’t unusual to hear the sound of shotguns, be it farmers working on the fields or shooting parties out hunting. On Monday there were suddenly police everywhere, which is unusual up here. I saw forensics teams out investigating.”
A solitary police van was seen near the scene last night and the entrance to the estate, which had been sealed off on Monday, had reopened.
