Police are renewing appeals for information and issuing further CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an incident of burglary in Eye.
At some point between midnight on Friday 30 March and 9.30am on Monday 2 April, an unknown offender forced entry into Eye Town Hall in Broad Street and damaged a number of paintings. A fire extinguisher was also set off causing further damage to antique furniture.
Officers would be interested to speak to a man who was captured on CCTV outside the town hall on Sunday 1 April at 9.40pm and leaving the area at around 10.50pm as he may be able to assist with the investigation.
PC Daniel Peck of the Eye Safer Neighbour Team said: “We have received a number of calls from members of the public who have provided us with valuable information but I would urge anyone else who may know anything about this incident to call us.
“This crime has had a significant impact on the local community and the cost of repair is likely to be a substantial amount.
“We are also issuing further CCTV images in the hope someone might be able to identify the logo on the man’s jacket. Any information about the make and style of the footwear would also be extremely helpful.”
Anyone who recognises the individual in the CCTV image should contact Suffolk police on 101, quoting crime reference 17763/18 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
