A teenager has been left with a cut to the back of her head after an incident in Coventry last night.
The emergency services were called to Attoxhall Road in Wyken at around 6.30pm last night following reports of an assault.
It has been confirmed that a 14-year-old girl had suffered a cut to the back of her head.
A 16-year-old girl was later arrested on suspicion of wounding.
She was taken into custody.
The victim was taken to hospital for further checks after being treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Critical Care Car from the Air Ambulance Service with a doctor on board were all called to the scene.
West Midlands Police also confirmed that both victim and suspect are believed to be known to each other.
A police spokesperson revealed that despite some speculation, there is no indication there were any more than two people involved in the incident.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police were alerted just before 6.30pm last night (Wednesday 6 March) to a 14-year-old girl who’d suffered a cut to the back of her head in Attoxhall Road .
“A 16-year-old girl was later arrested on suspicion of wounding and taken into police custody.
“It’s understood the victim and suspect are known to each other.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “West Midlands Ambulance Service can confirm that it was called to Attoxhall Road, Coventry, shortly before 6.30pm last night to reports of an assault.
“Three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Critical Care Car from the Air Ambulance Service with a doctor on board attended the scene.
“A girl sustained relatively minor injuries and, after receiving treatment on scene by ambulance staff, was conveyed to hospital for further checks.”
