DETECTIVES are investigating a report of a woman being robbed in Greenock.
The 57-year-old was approached by a man known to her, in Lynedoch Street around 1.30pm on Tuesday.
The man spoke to her before pushing her into a close and robbing her of money. The woman suffered a scratch to her face.
The incident was not reported to police at the time.
It’s believed there was a second man in the company of the robber. The men were in their late 40s or early 50s, one wearing dark jacket, the other a white cost.
Police are following a positive line of inquiry. Any witnesses are urged to call officers on 101.
