A man has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed outside Blackhorse Road tube station this afternoon.

Police cars and an ambulance could be seen at the scene in Walthamstow, London, just after 2.30pm today.

It is not yet know how serious the victim’s condition is.

Waltham Forest officers said their enquiry is ongoing but no arrests had been made.

‘Officers have responded to male stabbed outside Blackhorse Road Station, E17 at 1431hrs today,’ a spokesperson said.

‘One male taken to hospital with stab injuries. We await a full update on their condition.

‘No arrests. Crime scene in place. Enquiries are ongoing. No further updates at this time.’

The station has been completely closed due to the incident and the Victoria line is expected to continue through without stopping.

Video footage captured by Twitter user @MitchWadeCole shows a police cordon around the station and several police cars lined up outside.

As of December 31, there were 132 homicides in London during 2018.

The BBC reported that statistics showed 57% of deaths in London were as a result of stabbings.
