LUMBERTON — A Lumberton man is facing a felony death by vehicle charge after an accident on Sunday that killed a 25-year-old man, according to the state Highway Patrol.

According to a report by Trooper D.P. Stubbs, Otis Quennel Tyndall, 42, of Tar Heel Road, was driving while impaired when the two-vehicle accident occurred at Owen Road and N.C. 41 about two miles north of Lumberton at about 9:10 p.m.

Warrants have been issued for Tyndall’s arrest, according to the patrol.

Irons died the next morning at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, according to the Highway Patrol.

All three people involved in the accident were properly restrained, according to the report. Each vehicle sustained about $5,000 worth of damage.
