An ode to road safety and accident victims: JK Tyre’s initiative puts life first – Economic Times

The JK Tyre Constitution Club Car Rally flagged off its sixth edition to raise awareness about road safety and pay tribute to accident victims.

The JK Tyre Constitution Club Car Rally, conceived by the Constitution Club of India in partnership with JK Tyre, is an endeavour of Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Secretary, CCI and Dr Raghupati Singhania, chairman and MD, JK Tyre and Industries Ltd.

The Vice-president of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, flagged off this year’s rally in New Delhi. Naidu, along with Congress leader Rajeev Shukla and BJP MP Ranvijay Singh Judev, also paid homage to former president Giani Zail Singh and Gopinath Munde, who lost their lives in road accidents.

“In this annual initiative by JK Tyre, we hold the people who have lost their lives in road accidents close to our hearts. Decorated parliamentarians take the road, in compliance with the traffic rules set for any ordinary citizen, to set an example for road safety,” Rudy said.

The rally was followed by a grand prize distribution ceremony. Chief guest Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development, gave away prizes to the winners. Judev, along with his family members emerged the overall winner of the TSD rally. Around 63 cars participated in the rally which took a 34-kilometre route, from Rafi Marg to Thyagraj Road before converging onto Teen Murti Marg to end their ride at the CCI. Bollywood’s singing duo, Sukruti and Prakriti Kakkar added a splash of glamour to the event, and entertained the eminent guests. “We have been conducting this rally for the last six years and it goes with JK Tyre’s motto of ‘Drive Safe, Drive Responsibly’,” Dr Singhania said.
