MISSOULA, Mont. —
Officials warn of slick road conditions Tuesday morning after a late evening car accident left two dead.
Montana Highway Patrol said a car was traveling too fast for conditions on I-90 going west when it lost control and crossed the median and into eastbound traffic.
Officials said the car then collided head-on with a tractor trailer carrying aluminum.
MHP confirmed that both the female driver and male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
That tractor trailer then jacknifed and hit an SUV.
Both the tractor and the SUV went through a fence and into a nearby creek, but neither suffered any injuries.
This all happened just after 11 p.m. Monday between Belgrade and Manhattan.
Montana Highway Patrol said they do not yet know if drugs or alcohol were involved.
Officials say the crash is still under investigation.
