An Abbotsford man has been arrested and will now face criminal charges in connection with a hit-and-run rampage that sent several people to hospital and killed a dog.

Langley police said the 24-year-old was arrested Wednesday night in stolen vehicle following a string of hit-and-runs in North Langley, Willoughby and Abbotsford areas.

Police say the first hit and run was reported after 8 p.m. The suspect vehicle in that incident was a small pickup truck that had earlier been stolen from Abbotsford.

Authorities found the truck burning along the side of the Highway 1 in Abbotsford at 10:40 p.m. Soon after, a Honda Accord was stolen. The suspect was arrested in this car.

Langley RCMP say several people remained in hospital Thursday for non-life threatening injuries suffered during the hit and runs. A dog struck in North Langley died.

The 24-year-old suspect was due to appear in court Thursday.

Police would like anyone with may have witnessed any of the incidents, or who may have dash camera footage of the incidents to contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
