A car accident took place between Ariel Square and the Trans-Samaria Crossing on route 5. The private vehicle caught fire, a police spokesperson reported.

One person died in the crash and two other were wounded, one lightly and one seriously. They were evacuated to Beilinson Hospital, according to medical sources.

The road was blocked in both directions.

An investigation into the cause of the accident was opened by the police.
