LUCAN BIDDULPH – A Grand Bend woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 4 at the Clandeboye curve early Friday afternoon.

Middlesex OPP on Saturday confirmed that 75-year-old Sandra Green died at the scene of the accident that took place just after 1 p.m. on Friday.

According to OPP Const. Max Gomez, a sedan was travelling north on Denfield Road and stopped at the stop sign at the corner of Denfield and Highway 4. The sedan then entered the intersection and was struck by a commercial transport truck that was travelling south on Highway 4. Green, the driver of the sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the lone occupant of the sedan.

The transport truck, which was carrying grain, entered the east ditch on Highway 4 and spilled its load. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Responding to the scene were Middlesex and Huron OPP, Middlesex-London EMS, Huron County Paramedic Services, as well as the Lucan Biddulph and Granton fire departments. Highway 4 between Coursey Line and McGillivray Drive was closed for several hours Friday afternoon during the investigation.
