Robber threatened staff in Bargain Booze before fleeing with cash and cigarettes

A robber burst into a shop and threatened staff before fleeing with cigarettes and cash.

Police were called to Bargain Booze on Kings Road, in Bebington, at around 9.30am on Friday.

The man, described as white and in his 30s, entered the shop and made threats to members of staff.

He then made off with a quantity of cash and cigarettes, in the direction of the Kings Road roundabout.

Merseyside Police said no-one was injured during the incident and the force is now appealing for witnesses.

After robbing Bargain Booze on Kings Road in Bebington the man made off with a quantity of cash and cigarettes, in the direction of the Kings Road roundabout.

The man is described as medium build, around 5ft 7in tall and wearing a dark green coat and blue jeans with a pink carrier bag in the back pocket.

CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are currently ongoing.

Detective Inspector Mike Dalton said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Kings Road this morning and saw the male leaving the scene, or in the surrounding area, to please contact us. This must’ve been a frightening experience for the staff members and thankfully, no one was hurt.”

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area who may have captured anything on dash-cam to get in touch as they may have information which is vital to our investigation.”
