Portland police arrested one suspect and are searching for others following an armed robbery and carjacking in northeast Portland on Saturday night.
Officers responded to a reported carjacking in the 15700 block of Northeast Beech Street at 8:42 p.m. Saturday, where the victim said three people came into his motorhome, hit him with a pistol and robbed him of several items, including the keys to his car. All three then left, one of them in his car, the Portland Police Bureau said.
Minutes later, at 8:48 p.m., an officer pulled over a car matching the description of the stolen vehicle near Northeast 122nd Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street. Officers arrested the driver, Shirene Nicole Singh, 39, and charged her with first degree robbery.
Investigators are still looking for the other suspects, whom they don’t believe pose an immediate threat to public. The Gang Enforcement Team is assisting the investigation.
