Popular Afrikaans singer, André Schwartz, who fell victim to an armed robbery in October, was apparently followed for almost 20km before the robbery, police revealed.
The Honeydew Police Sector 3 manager, Captain Karen Jacob, who provided clarity about the incident as locals had raised concerns about the safety at the hospital, said André was followed from Rosebank to the Wilgeheuwel Hospital where the brazen suspects robbed him.

It was unclear what had been stolen from the musician at the time; however, Jacob said that the suspects were after his expensive Rolex watch. “The incident took about three to four minutes. These were the Rolex guys because the only thing they wanted was his Rolex watch but unfortunately his wallet was in his hand, so they took it as well,” Jacob explained.
She indicated that police are still on the lookout for the vehicle involved, although it’s difficult to catch them because they use different vehicles to commit their crimes.
