A 17-year-old boy has been given a 12-month restraining order and was ordered to pay £20 to the victim after an attempted knife-point robbery.
The boy has also been given a 12-month referral order at Salisbury Youth Court after admitting trying to steal money from a shop armed with a knife.
On Monday September 24 at approximately 3pm in Winterslow, near Salisbury, the teenager, who lives in the village, entered Central Stores (also in the village) carrying a six inch-long knife and demanded staff to open the till.
Two workers resisted with one grabbing and pointing an aerosol can of disinfectant at the teenager who then ran out of the shop dropping the knife into a nearby hedge.
Officers were called to his home address where he was arrested nearby.
At an earlier court hearing, the 17-year-old pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and possessing a knife in public.
