A multi-vehicle accident involving an unmarked Vancouver police vehicle closed down Broadway to westbound traffic at Renfrew Street Sunday morning.
Vancouver police and emergency crews were called to the scene at around 8 a.m.
Police say a VPD SUV was travelling westbound on Broadway when it collided with a Suzuki Sidekick. The Suzuki then crashed into a Ford Escape that was stopped at the intersection of Broadway and Renfrew.
Each vehicle had a lone driver and no passengers. The three people involved were all sent to hospital with what police deemed minor injuries.
The Independent Investigation Office of B.C. (IIO) — the province’s police watchdog — is investigating.
The section of Broadway near Renfrew was closed to westbound traffic for four hours.
