The feds and a national foundation are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of burglars who stole guns, including an AR-15 rifle, and ammunition from an Aurora gun shop.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, announced the reward for the Sept. 23 burglary at Tips and Brass, 15450 E. Hampden Ave., according to the ATF.

Two burglars forced entry into the business at about 3 a.m., stealing the AR-15 type rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, two training pistols and five boxes of ammunition.

Both burglars are described as men in their late-teens to early-20’s. One wore a white or light-grey hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants and solid black shoes. The other wore a white or light-grey hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, and two-colored Nike shoes, according to the reward notice. Both suspects entered the store with a handkerchief or white material covering their face. The suspects also carried a light-colored backpack.
