A man who helped a criminal organisation to murder a Dublin bar manager was caught after a mobile phone he bought was dropped next to the getaway car, the Special Criminal Court has been told.
Michael Barr, 35, manager of the Sunset House in Dublin’s north inner city, was shot seven times by a masked gunman at the pub in April 2016.
In July Martin Aylmer, 31, of Casino Park, Marino, Dublin 2, admitted that he had helped a criminal organisation to commit a serious crime. It is believed to be the first time a person has been prosecuted for this offence under legislation introduced in 2006. Aylmer was also charged with another similar offence relating to Mr Barr’s murder.
