A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found stabbed to death in a village street.
Residents were ordered to stay in their homes while armed police swarmed the area.
The man, in his 30s, died in hospital and a woman, also in her 30s has been arrested.
The incident happened in Bugle, near St Austell, Cornwall, just before 8pm on Friday, Cornwall Live reports.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman has said: “Emergency services were called at around 7.50pm following reports of a domestic incident in Bugle.
“A man in his thirties was reported to have sustained a stab wound and was taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital where he was later confirmed deceased.
“A woman in her thirties has been arrested on suspicion of murder and will be questioned in police custody.
“Localised closures and diversions were put in place.
“Enquiries are ongoing at the scene.”
The usually quiet Cornish village near was still in a state of lockdown late into the night.
A witness told Cornwall Live at the time: “There are no vehicles moving in the village and hardly any pedestrians.
“I’ve just seen one get through a barricade, being escorted by a policeman. There are about ten police cars but no ambulance presence now.”
The road was closed from Bugle to the A30 from the crossroads outside the Bugle Inn.
Drinkers in the pub were told to stay there as the incident continues.
Locals said that soon after the incident police, ambulance and forensics were seen in the village.
