LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A man was arrested Wednesday in connection to his wife’s Labor Day murder.
Walking the dog is common sight near the Colony West neighborhood, just off Rodney Parham in west Little Rock.
“It is pretty easygoing,” Karen Patton says.
Patton has lived here for four years.
“Most people are really nice to each other.”
But after Margaret Clevenger was found dead in her home on Labor Day, a murder investigation began, and the pace in this community became a little more hesitant.
“You’re more careful, a little more watchful,” Patton says.
Those watching this murder case closely saw a twist on Wednesday.
Only our cameras were there as Margaret’s husband, Timothy, was arrested for her murder.
He can be heard on the phone during the initial call to 911 back on September 3:
“Yes, hi. This is Tim Clevenger. I’m at 3 Old Forge Court. My wife is down. It looks like, it looks like she’s dead,” Clevenger says in the audio recording.
Patton says she saw Timothy around the neighborhood and recently heard another neighbor describe him.
“She said he was real strange,” Patoon says.
“I don’t know what she meant by that. She said he was just real strange.”
It matches the strange turn in this nearly monthlong investigation.
Timothy Clevenger is expected to appear in Little Rock district court for an arraignment on Thursday, Sept. 27.
He was booked into the Pulaski County Jail on a First-Degree Murder charge.
