A middle-aged man has been stabbed in a suspected burglary involving a gang of up to six men in a Gloucestershire village.
The man was rushed to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in the early hours of Monday morning after the incident in Redmarley.
The householder, who is in his 50s, is reported to be in a stable condition in hospital.
A car was also stolen and police are now trying to trace a group of up to six men thought to be involved in the incident.
A police spokesman said: “Police were called to the address shortly before 12.30am where a man aged in his 50s had suffered stab wounds.
“He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
“It is believed there were between four to six men involved in the incident where a vehicle was also stolen.
“They fled the scene and the vehicle has since been recovered by police.”
A 34-year-old man from Weston-super-Mare has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary in connection with an incident at the property.
